ARK 14. Tree Hotel Tour ( 2 Days)
Day 1.
Your drive will pass through the small town of Thika, home of the famous Del Monte pineapple and fruit canning factory, across the Tana River, source of Kenyan hydro power where the landscape changes as you climb higher into the rich farmlands of the Kikuyu tribe, arrival will be in time for lunch at one of the base hotels. If you are overnighting at Treetops lunch will be at the Outspan base hotel; if you are overnighting at the Ark then lunch will be at the Aberdares Country club (Mountain lodge has no base hotel) in the afternoon proceed to your Tree hotel where you will spend the night at your hotel balcony watching the animals as they visit the floodlit waterholes and salt lick.
Day 2.
On the second day, after a relaxed breakfast, return to your base hotel and depart for Nairobi where you will be dropped off at your city hotel.
Please note that the departure can be delayed by a day or two at an extra cost.
ARK 15. Masai Mara/ Lake Nakuru (5 Days)
Day 1 Nairobi /Masai Mara
8.45 to 9.15a.m pick from your Nairobi hotel. 9.30 A.M. Depart for the Masai Mara Game Reserve, stopping at the view - point of the Great Rift Valley and at Narok town for lunch. Arrive in time for a late afternoon/early evening game drive in this 'big game country' famed worldwide for it's high animal concentration, abundance and variety. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2 Masai Mara
Early breakfast then proceed for a full day of tracking game with your guide in this park whose landscape is savannah
grassland on rolling hills. Virtually every type of animal is found in the Mara, which has an extensive road, and track network, which allows excellent photography and viewing opportunities, making it the best and most visited park in Kenya. We will cater for a picnic lunch at the hippo pool. In the evening, drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Masai Mara
Early breakfast followed by a morning game drive. Lunch at the lodge. Afternoon option game drive or nature walk with our Masai guides; at extra cost you may visit a local Masai village to see their nomadic lifestyle. All activities will end in the evening then retire for the night after dinner at the lodge.
Day 4 Masai Mara/Nakuru
Early cup of tea or coffee then proceed on your final pre-breakfast game drive. Return to the lodge for a late breakfast then depart the Mara region for Nakuru, with lunch enroute. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 5 Lake Nakuru/Nairobi
After breakfast proceed on a game drive in Nakuru Park, which has prolific bird life including flamingos, white pelicans and the marabou stork among others. Waterbuck and Cape buffalo can be seen near the shoreline. Rothschild’s giraffe and the white rhino are additional attractions among other species of plains game and cats like lion. With luck you may spot leopard, which is rather elusive. Lunch in Nakuru then depart for Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon/early evening.
ARK 16. The Best of Kenya Luxury Tours (6 Days)
Day 1. Nairobi/Masai Mara
Having been picked up from your hotel, depart Nairobi at 9.30 A.M. Drive to the Masai Mara arriving in time for a late afternoon/early evening game drive, stopping at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint and at Narok town for lunch and re-fuelling. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2 Masai Mara
Breakfast will be followed by a full day of game drives within the reserve. You will have a break at the hippo pool for your picnic lunch. At the Mara you should expect to see three out of the big five namely elephant, lion and buffalo though luck is essential to track the other two that is rhino and leopard which are very shy and elusive. A wide variety of antelopes and other plains game can be seen. Scavengers like hyena and vulture are common. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3 Masai Mara
After breakfast depart on a morning game drive in this reserve, which is essentially the northern extension of Tanzania's Serengeti National Park. Lunch at the lodge . In the afternoon you have a choice of three activities:- a game drive or a nature walk with our Masai guides; the final choice is a visit to a Masai village to see their nomadic lifestyle at an extra cost payable directly to the Masai villagers. All activities end at the lodge by 6.30 p.m. where you will retire for the night after dinner.
Day 4 Masai Mara/Nakuru
Early morning pre-breakfast game drive. After breakfast depart the Mara region for Nakuru for dinner and overnight at the lodge, stopping for lunch enroute to Nakuru.
Day 5 Lake Baringo/Bogoria
Early breakfast then proceed to Lake Baringo for an hour's boat ride which enables you to see hippos at close range and the bird life that inhabits this lake as over 350 species of birds have been recorded here including some that conform to a migratory pattern, as well as crocodiles and Egyptian geese which migrate all the way from western Europe. Lunch in Baringo then drive back to Nakuru for dinner and overnight at the lodge via Lake Bogoria to view flamingos and the hot springs.
Day 6 Lake Nakuru/Nairobi
After breakfast depart your base lodge for a game drive in the nearby Lake Nakuru National Park where there are flamingos, white pelicans, marabou stork and a variety of other water birds that breed in the lake's alkaline waters. Plains game, Rothschild's giraffe, Cape buffalo and lion can also be seen. Lunch in Nakuru then depart for Nairobi, arriving in the evening.
ARK 17. MAASAI MARA/ NAIVASHA/ NAKURU/ BOGORIA/ BARINGO / SAMBURU/ MT. KENYA /AMBOSELI / TSAVO WEST / TSAVO EAST /NAIROBI or MOMBASA.
Day 1: Nairobi/Masaai Mara
0930hrs: Leave Nairobi for Masai Mara Game Reserve, picnic lunch en-route. On arrival proceed to the lodge/luxury tented camp. After a short rest proceed for a game drive in search of Black Maned Lions, Elephants, leopards,
Cheetah, Buffalos and other plain's game. Return to the lodge/luxury tented camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Masai Mara
0630hrs: After breakfast, proceed for an early morning game drive. Return to lodge/luxury tented camp for lunch. 1600hrs. After lunch, a further game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/luxury tented camp.
Day 3: Masai Mara
Full day game viewing in the Mara with an option nature walk or visit to a nearby Masai village in between the meal breaks. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/luxury tented camp. (Masai village visit available at extra cost)
Day 4: Masai Mara/ Naivasha
After breakfast, leave for Lake Naivasha. After lunch, visit Hells Gate National Park and the geothermal power plant. Proceed to the lodge/luxury tented camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Lake Naivasha/Lake Nakuru
Leave after breakfast and drive to the home of millions of flamingos and the home of the white rhino and about 350 different species of birds. Its known as: ORNITHOLOGICAL PARADISE. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/luxury tented camp.
Day 6: Bogoria/Baringo
After breakfast drive to Bogoria where the hot water springs abound and plenty of medicinal springs. After lunch, visit Lake Baringo. A boat trip to see various species of birds and very ancient caves. (The boat ride is only one (1) hour. If you require more hours, one pays direct). Dinner and overnight at the lodge/luxury tented camp.
Day 7: Samburu
After breakfast, leave for Samburu via the Thompson falls. Lunch en-route arriving late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/luxury tented camp.
Day 8: Samburu
0630hrs: After breakfast, depart for an early morning game drive. Return to the camp/lodge for lunch. 1600hrs Another game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/luxury tented camp.
Day 9: Samburu/Mt. Kenya
After breakfast, leave Samburu for Mount Kenya (Nanyuki) arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, visit the Mau Mau caves (where Kenyan Freedom Fighters could hide from the British Troops during the struggle for Independence). Dinner
and overnight at the lodge/luxury tented camp.
Day 10: Mt. Kenya/Amboseli via Nairobi
After breakfast, drive south via the biggest open-air market in East and Central Africa (Karatina). Proceed to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch in one of the restaurants. Continue to Amboseli via Kenya/Tanzania border (Namanga) arriving in Amboseli late afternoon. An evening game viewing drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/luxury tented camp.
Day 11: Amboseli
Early morning game drive before breakfast. After breakfast have a whole day game viewing. Optional:
Day 12: Amboseli/Tsavo West
After breakfast drive via Chyulu hills to Tsavo West National Park arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game viewing drive and a visit to Mzima Springs (The source of drinking water for Mombasa).
Return for dinner and overnight at the lodge/luxury
tented camp.
Day 13: Tsavo West/Tsavo East
After breakfast, drive to Tsavo East which is renowned for its large numbers of Elephants and the famous Man Eating Lions (during the building of the Kenya/Uganda Railway in 1890). Lunch on arrival. Game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/luxury tented camp.
Day 14: Tsavo East/Nairobi or Mombasa
After breakfast and your final game drive, return to Nairobi or continue to Mombasa for one of our Beach Specials.
