Our Philosophy |
At every destination, we work with experienced local guides. Mindful of the impact of human visitation on wildlife habitat, our communities allow a restricted number of visitors at any one time in a particular area. This approach allows sustainable economic development while avoiding the over exploitation of our natural resources In the end, we hope you will be inspired by our efforts to support local communities as they continue in their efforts to protect the environment and preserve the Maasai heritage. Although you may come as a visitors we hope you will leave as a treasured friends of the Maasai people. |
Our Safaris |
Our specialty is to tailor a safari to meet your needs and interests. We look forward to working with you to design an unforgettable journey that you will truly enjoy. All of the safaris will include fantastic wildlife experiences, but they can also include many other types of adventures. Here are some examples of the programs that can be arranged: Our safaris offer you a choice of accommodation in luxury camps, five star game lodges, or basic tented camps. More detailed itineraries are provided upon request and tailored to your interests. Activities from several of our programs can combined – just let us know how long you have to spend with us and what you want to see and do. |
Community Development Safaris |
The first tourist set foot in what is now the Maasai Mara National game reserve in 1929. This area, the heartland of Maasai country, has remained largely unchanged throughout the years thanks in large part to the Maasai people who practice pastoralism as a way of life and for the most part do not interfere with their natural surroundings.
For years, the Maasai have struggled to maintain their lands and their way of life as others have benefited from tourism activity on their ancestral lands. We now offer a program unique to the travel industry in Kenya – the opportunity for visitors to Maasai Mara, Samburu, and Amboseli to join us as partners in one of our community development projects while enjoying your holiday in any of these world renowned game viewing areas. Opportunities include helping our schools obtain basic supplies like books, paper and pencils. You may be interested in working alongside a teacher in one of our schools, or in assisting a nurse in a clinic/dispensary. Opportunities also exist for your assistance in building classrooms, clinics/dispensaries, or water dams. The opportunities will vary but will offer great satisfaction to you and be of great help to the Maasai people whose lands you are visiting. |
